Having once again dominated the British Championships she will go to the Games high on confidence.

Frankie Jones: “I’m really happy with my performance over the weekend and to once again be named British championships is fantastic. I’ve put a lot of hard training in and its great to see it paying off, my routines were very solid and I’m gaining confidence all the time. The next event for me is the Olympic Games which is an unbelievable thought; I can’t wait to get my name officially confirmed on Wednesday.

I can’t even imagine what it is going to be like at the Games, the whole atmosphere is going to be crazy for the Team GB athletes and the whole of Britain is going to be so excited.”

Sports Acrobatics Gymnastics British Tournament 28.11.10

1 12 2010

Covered the the event for British Gymnastics on Sunday. The drive down to Stoke was fine despite the snow showers.

Used a D3 and 200 f2 combination. The sports hall at Fenton Manor is not the best lighting. Was shooting at 2000 asa at 1/320s at f2. This was fine for the balances but almost impossible to freeze any of the tempo routines. Looking at upgrading to the D3s for the extra stop that would give in this situation.

Also is anyone using the new  Nikon 200 f2 vr 11 lens?I bought my original 200 f2 lens right after the Athens Olympics and have used it at every gymnastics competition since then. Is the new one worth the extra cost to upgrade?
