Photo of USA Gymnast John Orozco from the Glasgow World Cup on the front page of my website this week

Used a combination of Nikon D4S and Nikon 200f2 lens. This combination worked really well with focus hardly missing. Nice to be able to concentrate on framing and  not on focussing.

Looking forward to the 2015 gymnastics season starting with the British Championships at Liverpool Echo Arena at the end of March.

Martina Hingis at the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament

16 06 2010

Former women’s World No.1 Martina Hingis completed her comeback to Liverpool this afternoon, with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway.
The 1997 Wimbledon Champion last played here in 2008 and is competing again this year in preparation for an appearance with Anna Kournikova in the invitational doubles at SW19.
Hingis, 29, started the match well and her class shone through against the inexperienced Eikeri, who is appearing at the tournament for the first time.
Playing to an admiring crowd on Centre Court, Hingis broke the Norwegian in the fourth game to take an early 3-1 lead. Eikeri struggled with her serve and a double fault gave Hingis a second break as she went on to win the first set 6-1.
The 17-year-old fought back in the second set though, trading breaks with the Swiss and showing the signs of promise that saw her qualify for Junior Wimbledon last year.
However the former five-time Grand Slam Champion proved too much for the Norwegian as the set wore on, in a display that is sure to encourage the ‘Swiss Miss’ ahead of her trip to the All England Club this summer.
Hingis sealed the match with three games in a row to win 6-1, 6-3 to the delight of the sun-drenched crowd.
“I still love to play tennis so every time I get a chance to get on the court I’m always up for it.” said Hingis.
Hingis is competing in a trio of events, organised by sports management company Northern Vision: “I got here this morning and I was looking forward to seeing everyone again! I had a lot of fun last week in Nottingham, the atmosphere on this tour is very relaxed and it’s really great to play with the kids.”
Meanwhile, Anders Borg, Tournament Director at Northern Vision, praised Hingis for appearing in Liverpool once again, he said: “We’re delighted by Martina’s presence at the tournament as she adds a certain quality and flair to the proceedings. Her vast experience and success in the game is certain to entertain the crowds and her continued support proves what a prestigious and welcoming tournament we have built here in Liverpool.”
