Frankie Jones seals 5th British Rhythmic Gymnastics title

Francesca Jones (City of Birmingham) has sealed her 5th British title at the 2011 Rhythmic Gymnastics British Championships from Fenton Manor.

Frankie scored 93.425 to take the senior all-around in a close battle with Kezi Gore (City of Canterbury) who scored 91.100, with Mimi Cesar (City of Birmingham – 80.850) back in 3rd. In the apparatus finals on Sunday, two of the titles went to Francesca (hoop and ball) and two to Kezi (clubs and ribbon).

Laura Halford (Esprit) was crowned junior champion with 80.00, from teammate Stephani Sherlock – 78.400, with Helena Bailey (Stockport) in third place – 74.125. Laura added to this three gold medals in the apparatus finals (ball, clubs and ribbon), with Stephani winning the gold for ribbon.

HSG Swallows gymnasts Leah Munday and Megan Balabay took the under-11 and under-12 titles respectively. The Swallows also swept all available gold medals in the apparatus finals: Leah Munday with rope, hoop and ball and Jade Wright – for the free exercise, while Megan remained unbeaten on all the four pieces of apparatus in the under-12 section.
