GB Gymnast Imogen Cairns and Coach Liz Kincaid at Lilleshall

Had an opportunity last weekend to photograph GB international Gymnast Imogen Cairns and her coach Liz Kincaid during training at Lilleshall National Sports Centre the home of British Gymnastics.Imogen is pictured holding a host of medals which she won at last years Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The lighting at Lilleshall is not the best giving me the ideal opportunity to test out the new Nikon 200 f 2 VR 11. Shot at F2 with a shutter speed of 1/250s the photos are super sharp.Really pleased with this purchase.
British gymnasts are going from strength to strength and have a superb set up at Lilleshall.My coverage this year starts with the English Championships in February.

Former Miss Canada finalist Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy Graduates with an MA studying the music of the Beatles

Covered a great story yesterday,working at Liverpool Hope University photographing their Winter Graduation. See below:

Former Miss Canada finalist Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy was one of the first students to sign up for the first ever course on the Fab Four when it launched in March 2009 at Liverpool Hope Univerity. In total, 12 full time students joined the Master of Arts course that year and Mary-Lu is the first from her class to graduate.

The unique MA in The Beatles, Popular Music and Society was a world first when it took its first class of students in September 2009.

We met Mary Lou at the now famous Penny Lane in Liverpool to shoot the press photo. I have lived in Liverpool all of my life and this was the first time I have been to Penny Lane!

Archive images of GB Gymnasts now online

New additions to the  Gymnastics library include archive photos of GB #Gymnasts #Lisa Mason and #Rhythmic gymnast #Debbie Southwick.  The gallery will largely contain images scanned from transparencies taken before the launch of the Nikon D1.It is a project I have been looking to do for a long time.I have about 10,000 images both in colour and B&W waiting to be scanned and archived.
